Date

9th April 2020

During this time of staying safe at home we want to share our favourite recipes from The Hairy Bikers for you to explore and enjoy. The Hairy Bikers are also bringing their brand new tour to the Waterfront Hall in September!

Over the last couple of weeks whilst staying at home there are a variety of activities that many of us have got involved in. Perhaps you have taken this time to learn a language, to sew or to read more books. Maybe you’ve convinced your partner to make a Tik Tok video or have binge watched The Tiger King on Netflix. Staying safe at home has given many of us an opportunity to do things we wouldn’t otherwise have a chance to do.

If you have Instagram, you will probably be seeing a lot of food related posts on your newsfeed. You will be witnessing people who have never baked in their life bake banana bread, cookies and scones all in two days. Baking and cooking exotic new dishes seem to be a favourite pass time whilst staying at home. After all we have nowhere else to go other than the garden.

We have put together some of our top picks of delicious recipes from the big hearted and down-to-earth cooks, the Hairy Bikers. Si and Dave are loved by many for their irresistible enthusiasm and passion for food and travelling the world. They understand the importance of great food and home cooking to every household.

Starter

Spicy lentil and kale soup

This delicious soup will certainly have you coming back for a second bowl. This serves four and only has four steps to follow!

Main course

Roast cod with lentils

If it’s a healthy dish you are after, look no further! This delicious cod dish only take 25 minute in total to make.

Veggie tacos

Tacos are always good for the soul, why not give these vegetarian tacos a go?

Chilli con carne

A classic dish with a prep time of 20 minutes – easy yet delicious!

Dessert

Spiced apple muffins

There’s no denying that spiced apple muffins would go down a treat after dinner with a cup of tea.

Moist carrot and sultana cake

We all know eating cake all the time isn’t good for your health but it’s a tasty occasional treat, especially around Easter time.

What are you waiting for? Turn the music up in your kitchen, have fun whilst cooking and enjoy the tasty outcome with a glass of wine. There are many more wonderful dishes on the Hairy Bikers website for you to explore and enjoy.

If you fancy seeing the Hairy Bikers for an epic night of cooking and conversation, then don’t miss their brand new tour coming to the Waterfront Hall on 25 September 2020! Si and Dave will be talking all things food, frolics and tales from a life on the road.
