Culture Night Belfast Returns & We’re Proud to Be Part of It
After five years, Culture Night Belfast is back on Friday 19 September 2025, with Belfast’s Waterfront Hall part of the celebrations hosting a vibrant new event in the Waterfront Studio.
The last full Culture Night in 2019 welcomed more than 100,000 people into the city, and this year promises to be just as special with more than 100 free, family-friendly events across Belfast. As Lois Kennedy, Event Director at MayWe, put it:
“This is a new Culture Night Belfast for a new era – reimagined and reinvigorated… but what hasn’t changed is the spirit, the ethos, that sheer communal sense of ‘Belfast is class!’”
Waterfront Studio is embracing that spirit with The Funky Kongs: Video Games Live! a unique, high-energy show bringing the music of Mario Kart, Final Fantasy, Animal Crossing and more to life with jazz, funk, and swing twists.
This Belfast-based quintet don’t just play, they transform familiar gaming soundtracks into irresistible, feel-good performances that are nostalgic, interactive, and FREE for all to enjoy.
Charlie McCloskey, Director of Events and Customer Experience at Waterfront Hall and Ulster Hall commented, “Culture Night has always been about that special Belfast buzz, the joy, spontaneity, and community spirit that fills the city for one night only. The Waterfront Hall team is proud to help showcase the talent of our incredible local arts scene and invite families, visitors, and culture-lovers of all ages to join us."
Whether you’re exploring events across the city or stopping by Waterfront Studio for a hit of gaming nostalgia.
So, power up, gather your party, and come celebrate Culture Night 2025 – in the immortal words of a certain kart-racing plumber – let’s-a go!
