I was the voice of Gerry Adams, a hilarious new comedy by Grimes & McKee, comes to Waterfront Studio in Belfast from 25 February - 14 March 2026.
"I'll have you know, I was the last person to do the voice of Gerry Adams on the news." "No you weren't - I was."
From Grimes and McKee comes a brand-new comedy about what happens when the worlds of politics and performance collide in the cultural hotpot that is Northern Ireland.
I Was the Voice of Gerry Adams is the first collaboration between Northern Ireland's favourite comedy duo and renowned Theatre Producer and playwright Martin Lynch since the powerhouse hit-show 'The History of the Troubles (According to My Da)' which became a phenomenon – packing out theatres and delighting audiences across the country.
Told through the eyes of two middle-aged actors, I Was The Voice of Gerry Adams is a romp through early nineties culture in our part of the world. It combines Grimes & McKee's trademark mix of outrageous storytelling and razor-sharp observation and sees the pair playing a whole host of characters as part of a side-splitting journey through the strange world of censorship, fame, and the voices that defined a generation.
Expect laughter, nostalgia, and a good dose of Northern Irish truth-telling.
