On Sunday 15 September 2019, the celebrated young Parisian organist Thomas Ospital will give an organ recital on the Mulholland Grand Organ in the Ulster Hall.
This event is presented by the Dunleath Organ Scholarship Trust in association with the Ulster Society of Organists and Choirmasters. The programme will include an improvisation on a submitted theme.
Thomas Ospital, titulaire of the Grand Organ of Saint-Eustache, has quickly gained recognition as a concert organist. A laureate of several competitions, he was awarded First Prize at the 2009 International Competition of Organ in Saragossa, Spain, the Duruflé-Prize and the Audience Prize at the 2012 International Chartres Competition, and Second Prize at the 2013 International Xavier Darasse Competition in Toulouse.
Thomas Ospital has given performances as a recitalist throughout Europe and also in Russia and North America. And, he is eager to perpetuate the art of improvisation in all of its forms.
