Ulster Orchestra performs Light Music at the Ulster Hall, Belfast on 26 January 2024.
This concert will fend off the chill of winter! Michael Collins is our soloist for Weber’s sprightly, playful Clarinet Concerto No. 2 and Haydn’s final symphony is a joyous showcase of all his innovative writing. We are also delighted to give the World Première of Simon Mawhinney’s elegy, A Pillar of Light for Haydn, an uplifting celebration of the life of a friend’s teenage son.
Our thanks to the Ralph Vaughan Williams Trust for supporting this new work.
