Unfortunately this performance by Leo Miyagee on Sunday 09 November has been postponed, however Sound of Belfast Festival are delighted to add Leo to the line up for Winnie Ama's debut album launch on Thursday 06 November with Clara Bella the Belfast Groove Collective in the Oh Yeah Centre.
Leo is celebrated for his distinctive fusion of jazz-infused beats, neo-soul textures, and introspective lyricism. Raised in the UK with roots in Zimbabwe, Leo spent time in London before settling in Northern Ireland — a journey that deeply informs his rich, culturally layered sound.
His debut album, Vein of Folly, created in collaboration with producer Eulogy Beats, received critical acclaim and BBC playlist support, cementing his place as one of Northern Ireland’s most compelling new voices. Through his music, Leo blends soulful soundscapes with poignant storytelling that resonates across audiences.
Leo has performed at Soultrane’s first two festivals and holds the distinction of being the platform’s inaugural Artist in Residence. This showcase marks the culmination of Soultrane’s first Artist Residency.
Leo has been nominated in several categories as part of the NI Music Prize, including BBC Artist of the Year, Best Album, and Best Live Act, underscoring his significant impact on the Northern Irish music scene. Last year, Leo received the Original Track Award (Solo) at the Youth Music Awards for his track "Bills" and is part of a cohort of artists supported for their exceptional talent and contributions to music via the Youth Music NextGen Fund.
He has featured regularly on BBC Introducing's 'Across the Line', was selected by the PRS Foundation as a 'Power Up Music Creator' and was nominated for Ticketmaster's Irish Artist of the Year Award in 2024.
