Scooby and Shaggy look forward to Waterfront show!
28 August 2009
Its almost Scooby-Dooby-Doo time as Scooby, Shaggy and the rest of the Mystery Inc gang get set to bring their brand new show -
Scooby-Doo and The Pirate Ghost – Live on Stage!
- to Belfast Waterfront on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 September.
Ghostly goings-on are guaranteed as Scooby, Shaggy, Velma, Daphne and Fred find themselves on a tropical island where they encounter the Pirate Queen and her crew wreaking havoc! Hi-jinx and mayhem soon ensue!
Ghost hunting has proven a strange career choice for Scooby-Doo, the lovable, chicken-hearted Great Dane who quivers at the sight of his own shadow and prefers Scooby Snacks to mystery any day of the week!
Scooby is brought to the stage by Jamie Brown. The 23 year revealed that he shares much with his alter ego and explains that Belfast audiences are in for a great time at the Waterfront: “I was obsessed with Scooby-Doo as a child. We share the same passions in life - food & sleep! Fans can look forward to all the mayhem and madness of a normal episode of Scooby-Doo brought to life right in front of their eyes with loads of audience interaction … and all the capers Scooby and Shaggy get up to!”
Shaggy - the human version of Scooby-Doo whose vocabulary is often limited to zoinks, groovy and outta sight - is played by Matthew Bloxham (28). So why Scooby-Doo? “Scooby-Doo’s an iconic character and I grew up watching it. The rehearsals for the new show have been excellent - we’re having so much fun and laugh all day! The best thing about the show is the sheer energy. It`s non stop!”
Fred - the square-jawed leader of the pack and famed for his acutely curious nature - is played by 26 year-old Jamie Wilson. Amanda Short (25) plays Velma, the smartest girl in her high school who provides a logical solution to any mystery! 24 year-old Selina MacDonald plays fashion conscious teen beauty, Daphne. Intrigued with danger and mystery, she inevitably becomes trouble’s target in Scooby-Doo!
