Technical information


Main Auditorium

The following equipment and support is provided as standard for all Main Auditorium bookings.

Sound

  • one sound technician to set up and operate equipment, provide advice to clients, help with on-stage and front of house cabling, mic-ing and outboard patching set-up and operation, mix and sound check, play cues, provide full front of house sound operation and monitor control of up to four mixes during your event
  • full use of D&B public address system (includes floor standing and flown stereo PA stacks consisting of Ground 2 x B2 subs, 2x C7 subs, 4x C4 subs, 6x C4 tops and 2 x C7 tops. Flown 6 x C4 subs, 4 x C7 subs and 8 x C4 tops)
  • 64 sound channels controlled from a Midas Heritage 3000 mixing console (located behind block A) or up to ten channels controlled from Soundcraft GB4 mixing desk in control room (behind block B)
  • up to 12 stage monitors (in any configuration) controlled from front of house positions with a maximum of four separate mixes
  • microphones with stands and cables (including 6 x Shure SM58, 6 x Shure SM57, 1 x Shure Beta91, 6 x AKG 300B condenser, 2 x AKG 414 condenser, 2 x Beyer 834N condenser, 1 x Beyer 201, 2 x Beyer M88, 2 x ElectroVoice RE20, 4 x Sennheiser MD 421 and 4 x Sennheiser MD 504)
  • 4 x Klark Technik LBB100 active direct injection boxes, 2 x Emo stereo passive direct injection boxes, 4 x BSS active direct injection boxes
  • processing and effects equipment including 2 x BSS FCS 960 graphics, 1 x TC Electronics D2, 2 x Yamaha SPX 2000, 1 x Lexicon PACM 81 and 1 x Lexicon PACM 91
  • insertable dynamic processing consisting of ten compressors and eight gates, including 2 x Avalon AD2044 stereo valve compressors, 2 x dual compressors, 2 x BSS 404 quad compressors and 2 x BSS 402 quad gates
  • Denon DN99R mini-disc, Revox PR99 tape machine, Denon cassette deck, CD player, DA20 DAT player.

Lighting

  • one lighting technician to set up and operate equipment, provide advice to clients on lighting facilities possible, focus lamps (193) in specific positions to suit your event, programme lighting console, play cues and help with full front of house lighting
  • 108 par 64 parcans with cp61 lamps and 24 par 56 ACLs in three strings (located overhead on mid-stage and up-stage trusses)
  • 12 Robert Juliat, 2K PC with scrollers (located on down stage front truss)
  • Rosco Super Gel numbers in scrollers (00, 54, 305,09, 36, 367, 370, 340, 29, 25,79, 95, 357, 21, 25, 383, 76, 353, 22, 27, 385)
  • Ten Robert Juliat, 15/38º 1.2K profiles and one Robert Juliat, 9/26º 2K profile (located on down stage front truss)
  • 24 Robert Juliat, 9/26º 2K profiles (located in front of house bridge one)
  • Six Robert Juliat 9/26° 2K profiles (located in front of house bridge two)
  • RJ 15/38º 2K Profiles situated under balconies
  • ETC Impression lighting console or Avolights Diamond 3 lighting console
  • Antari Z 1500 smoke machine
  • Antari Fazer haze machine
  • 200 ETC Smartpack 2.5K dimmers
  • 100 ETC Smartpack 5K dimmers
  • 20 ETC Smartpack 10k dimmers
  • 24 switched non-dim lights.

Communications

  • prompt desk (located at stage right or left)
  • 16 cue lights
  • dual circuit intercom station
  • six sets of headsets and microphones on a dual circuit intercom system
  • paging to back stage and front of house areas
  • video outlets throughout all auditoria
  • show relay throughout the building.

Other facilities

We can also provide a third technician/duty stage manager to assist with any extra requirements you may have.

They are available to assist with sound or lighting set-up or take down and other technical duties.

The duty stage manager is also our main safety and evacuation officer for both the audience and back stage during your event.
