Light Surgeons

The Light Surgeons are a cross-disciplinary production company working in documentary film, photography, animation and music production.
The group`s True Fictions project set out to explore the roots of cinema and storytelling by investigating the various thresholds of truth and myth.
Gathering documentary material from the local people of Troy, New York, The Light Surgeons unearthed many opposing views on a range of subjects in the most culturally diverse state of America.
This web of stories and homespun narratives was finally combined with an original musical score inspired by the Dadaist game of Exquisite Corpse.
The resulting material is a fusion of different musical genres; jazz, folk and hip-hop are mixed together with classical and electronic influences.
The final performance brings all these musical and narrative elements together on stage as a kaleidoscopic, multi-screen cinematic experience.
